Bharat Nirman campaign begins at Thoubal
Imphal, Jan 29 : A three-day long Public Information Campaign on the flagship programmes of the Centre began at Mini Secretariat Hall, D.C Complex, Thoubal
The main highlight of the campaign is creation of awareness among the public on the flagship programmes like National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA), National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), Rural Drinking Water Supply, Rural Housing (Indira Awaj Yojna), Rural Telephony, Total Sanitation Campaign, Integrated Child development Services (ICDS), PM's 15 points programmes for the welfare of Minorities and Forest development
On the first day today, officials spoke about Integrated Child Development Services Scheme (ICDS), Rural Telephony, National Rural Health Mission. One-day free medical camp was also held
Around 17 departments displayed their activities. Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), Government of India, Imphal displayed a 600 sq. ft. photo exhibition on the theme initiating development in the North East
Song and Drama Division (S and DD), Government of India, Imphal, Nokphade leela party, MCAM performed theme-based cultural programmes in the form of song, dance, drama and martial art
The event is jointly organised by Press Information Bureau (PIB), All India Radio (AIR), Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), DAVP, DFP, S and DD, in collaboration with District Administration, Thoubal, different departments, Government of Manipur and Government of India, of Thoubal district under the sponsorship of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, New Delhi
