Goa NCP condemns arrest of its leaders
Panaji, Jan 29 : Goa NCP president Prof Surendra Sirsat today strongly condemned the high handed manner in which its top leaders, including Jose Philip D'Souza, were taken into preventive custody at Vasco while on a peaceful protest march to highlight the poor law and order situation in the state
"The action committee of Mormugoa taluka (MTAC) had given an ultimatum to the state government to identify and arrest the accused of the Vasco child rape case," he said
"Despite strong agitations by the locals, the government did not show any respect to the people's sentiments
Following which, the MTAC had called for a bandh to highlight the apathy and deficiency of the functioning of the Police department under Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar
We demand that the MPT Management In-charge of the School also be arrested for the negligence of the security of the school children," he added
