Mysore, Jan 28 : The Mysore Industries Association (MIA), representing Mysore, Mandya and Chamarajanagar Districts, has urged CM Jagadish Shettar to release Rs 160 crore as subsidy arrears for small scale industries in the state, which were pending since the last four years

MIA President P Vishwanath said that a memorandum in this regard was submitted to Mr Shettar in Bangalore recently during the pre-budget meeting

It also urged the CM to constitute an Industrial Facilitation Council under the proprietorship of rural commerce of Mysore Region to help small scale industries get the long standing dues in their bills from the purchasers, a MIA release said

The industry body urged to consider Grama Panchayats in Mysore to form nodal centres and help to establish micro and small industries at village level which will create employment and prevent the people from migrating to cities
