The pro-CPI (M) Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) in Kerala today said it would protect cinema halls showing actor-director Kamal Hassan's controversial film 'Viswaroopam' in the State.
Addressing DYFI activists, who took out a march against 'Samskrika Theevravadam' (cultural terrorism) to 'Kairali' theatre in the city, its Central Committee member Adv Mohammed Riyaz said certain organisations, opposing the movie, were attempting to disrupt the cordial atmosphere prevailing in the State.
He said the DYFI justified premiering the movie, which was cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification, comprising members from the Muslim Community as well.
