Two students of a private school were killed in a wall collapse Saturday in a Uttar Pradesh town while Republic Day celebrations were underway, police said.
The incident took place in the Tanda area in Rampur district, some 300 km from here.
Police said while the Republic Day function was going on, a dilapidated wall of a neighbouring house caved in and several students standing near it were buried. Two of them died on the spot and over a dozen were rushed to hospital.
In another incident, four students were injured as a parapet caved under the weight of people standing on it at a school in Farrukhabad district, some 150 km from Lucknow, police said.
