Australian all rounder Christian pondering over first-class future following shock omission
Australian all rounder Daniel Christian is contemplating his first-class future after getting dropped from the South Australia Redbacks squad for their Sheffield Shield clash just days after hitting Brisbane Heat to the Big Bash League title.
The final four first-class games of the season could have afforded Christian a run at the Test all rounder's berth vacated by Shane Watson in India then England, News.com.au reports.
Christian is still coveted a return to Australia's one-day side after his match winning 37 from 21 balls in Brisbane Heat's BBL triumph against Perth Scorchers on Saturday, the paper added.
All rounder Christian didn't envisage a Redbacks omission after being assured his cards hadn't been marked by a one-game disciplinary suspension in November, it further said.
A shocked Christian said he didn't see it coming, as he was playing for Australia a few months ago, adding it was nice to score some runs in a pressure situation in the Big Bash.
The all rounder said he would have to go back and perform at club level now to earn his place back in the team.
