White slams CA's 'remarkable' inaction against Samuels for bat-throwing antics
Melbourne Stars batsman Cameron White has slammed Cricket Australia (CA) for their failure to take any solid action against Caribbean all rounder Marlon Samuels for his on-field spat with Shane Warne.
Hitting out at CA officials, White branded the lack of action against the West Indies batsman for throwing his bat at spin great Warne during Big Bash League's Melbourne derby as remarkable.
White said that Samuels is unpopular among many Australian cricketers because of his poor behaviour on the field, adding that being provoked is no excuse for the all rounder's misdemeanors, News.com.au reports.
Samuels, who played for the Melbourne Renegades, hurled his bat at Melbourne Stars captain Warne after a fiery mid-pitch clash at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Warne was fined and suspended for his part in the fracas but after a CA hearing on Monday, Samuels was only given a reprimand because of what officials deemed as 'extreme provocation' from Warne.
