Barack Obama's Inaugural Luncheon exceeds 3000 calories
President Barack Obama's Inaugural Luncheon menu this year has raised a few eyebrows concerning its high calorie content and the First Lady's obesity initiatives.
The menu includes lobster in clam chowder sauce, grilled bison and apple cake with homemade ice cream, Fox News reported.
The meal's three courses could contain 3027 calories, excluding the booze, it has been estimated.
CalorieCount.com is a registered dietitian Rachel Berman who analyzed this year's Inaugural Luncheon menu and came up with its nutrional statistics.
First course of the meal includes steamed Lobster with New England Clam Chowder Sauce, Lobster Tails, Sauteed Spinach and Sweet Potato Hay.
Hickory Grilled Bison, Red Potato Horseradish Cake, Wild Huckleberry Reduction, Butternut Squash Puree, Baby Golden Beets and Green Beans, Strawberry Preserve and Red Cabbage are on the list for the second course.
Third course has Hudson Valley Apple Pie, Sour Cream Ice Cream, Aged Cheese and Honey, Cinnamon Crumble, Maple Caramel Sauce
Garnish, Artisan Cheeses, etc.
When it comes to drinks invitees have a list that includes Tierce Finger Lakes Dry Riesling 2010, Korbel Natural, Special Inaugural Cuvee Champagne, California and Bedell Cellars Merlot 2009.
