Ragging: Business management student hospitalised
A business management student, who suffered serious burn injuries in ragging by his seniors in a Karnataka College, was undergoing treatment in a Manathawadi Hospital in Wayanad district of Kerala.
Police today said Mohammed Rafi, first year Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) student of Shree Siddhartha Insitute of Business Management, Thumkoor, Kanrnataka, was admitted to the Mananthawadi District Hospital yesterday.
Rafi, hailing from Vellamunda in the district, said senior students, hailing from Kerala itself, immersed his head in boiled water as he hesitated to attend a programme organised by them.
The seniors also accused him of preventing other juniors from attending the function hosted by them.
Police said his statement had been recorded and sent to the Karnataka police for further action as the place of the brutality was not under its jurisdiction.
