BJP president Nitin Gadkari was greeted with black flags by a section of the Uttar Pradesh state employees here today when they were protesting against the party's move to support the Reservation in Promotion Bill in Parliament.
The state employees of the Sarvajan Hitaye Sankrashan Samiti waved black flags near Amausi airport when Mr Gadkari, who is in Lucknow to address a public rally, was going to his hotel.
Later, some BJP workers clashed with the state employees on their protest.
Sarvajan Hitaye Sankrashan Samiti's president Shailendra Dubey said here that due to the assault of state employees by the BJP workers, the state employees in the state capital were on a day's token strike.
During the recent protest by the Samiti against the Reservation in Promotion Bill, the state employees have pelted rotten vegetables and eggs at the BJP state headquarters on the Vidhan Sabha Marg.
Later several senior BJP leaders of the state were forced to speak against the party's decision to support the Reservation in Promotion Bill which had already been passed by the Rajya Sabha.
