Brisbane men embracing metrosexuality with laser Brazilian
Metrosexuality, which was first a neat shirt and a bit of hair gel, has now gone to the max as the laser Brazilian grows in popularity among Brisbane men chasing youthful bareness and sporty speed.
Laser specialist Nicola Kooreman from Advanced Laser at Toowong said she had noticed a rise in the number of men wanting all the hair removed from their private parts in the past year.
"Most of them are sports related. They usually wax and then they turn to laser," the Courier Mail quoted her as saying.
Male clients range in age between 25 and 60.
"It's definitely getting more and more popular. In the last year, numbers have tripled," she said.
According to her, men tend to have the treatment for themselves more than for their partners.
Laser technician Sarah Halley from Results Laser Clinic in the CBD said that the laser Brazilian was particularly popular with Brisbane men under 40.
Psychologist Nick Smith, from Your Psychology Clinic in Paddington, said many factors could influence the removal of body hair including society's obsession with cleanliness and clear surfaces.
