BSE Sensex ends above 20,000

The BSE Sensex rose 0.38 percent on Friday, closing above the 20,000 mark for the first time in two years, after oil stocks extended their rally.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 75.01 points higher at 20,039.04 with 16 of its components closing in the green.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.42 percent or 25.20 points higher at 6,064.40 on Friday.
Expectations of a cut in the country's subsidy burden due to the raising of diesel rates helped energy stocks surge for a second consecutive term.
Meanwhile in the New Delhi bullion market, gold fell Rs 150 to Rs 31,000 per 10 grams while silver recovered Rs 200 to Rs 59,400 per kg.
