Boeing Dreamliner aircraft grounded in Chennai to study design fault:D
A Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft was grounded here today after it landed from New Delhi at 0945 hrs, in compliance with the decision taken by the Boeing company to shelve the use these aircraft till some design faults are set right.
The aircraft that landed here was to return to Delhi with 186 passengers at 1040 hrs. However, Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA) authorities here ordered the grounding of the aircraft.
A team of experts from the Boeing company will arrive here later today or tomorrow to examine the aircraft, DGCA officials told newspersons at the airport. Meanwhile, the 186 passengers who were to fly to New delhi in the grounded Dreamliner Boeing aircraft, were accomodated in an Air india Airbus 330 flight with 62 other passengers bound for Bangalore. The flight landed in Bangalore first and then left for Delhi.
