Seemandhra Leaders meet amid tight security

Amid tight security and threat of disruption by pro-telangana activists, Congress Party leaders from Rayalaseema and Andhra began their meeting this morning to oppose the proposed division of Andhra Pradesh The meeting was being held in the Ministers' quarters in the posh Banajara Hills Area of the city with huge pose of policemen deployed to thwart any attempt by pro-telangana activists to disrupt the meeting.

Earlier, some Telangana JAC students from Osmania University were taken into custody by the police when they tried to prevent Seemandhra leaders from attending the meeting.

Minister for School Education S Sailajanath who is also the Convenor of the Seemandhra Legislators Forum, earlier had said "We have every right to express our views in a democratic manner. Nobody can stop us."
