The Reliance industries limited today contributed Rs one crore to the district administration for the implementation of 'Dhirubhai Ambani Protsaham' scheme.
At a simple function held at the Collectors camp office the Reliance industries support services Head Venkata Sivaraman and General Manager Human resources Nagireddy have handed over the cheque for Rs one crore to Collector Neethu Kumary.
Reliance representatives VVD Prasad and Subrahmanyam also attended.
Under the Protsaham scheme, merited students among the poor would be provided free collegiate education in corporate institutions. Collector Neethu Kumary, while complimenting the Reliance management for the gesture, said it would go a long way in uplifting the poor educationally and hoped the other corporate bodies also would emulate Reliance.
