Andhra Pradesh Minister for Panchayat Raj from Telangana region K Jana Reddy today stated that they were exerting a lot of pressure on the Congress high command to resolve the contentious Telangana issue.
Talking to reporters after an informal meeting with his Cabinet Colleagues from the Telangana region here, Mr Jana appealed to the all leaders to exercise restraint at this critical time as the party high command Ms Sonia Gandhi was moving towards resolving the Telangana issue.
The Minister said, "We are confident a permanent solution will be found the party high command." Thanking Sonia Gandhi for her positive move on Telangana issue, Mr Jana pointed out that Congress leaders from the region faced a lot of ignominy and insinuation over the Telangana.
"We want people from Andhra-Rayalaseema to appreciate the gravity of the problem and exercise restraint at this critical juncture," he maintained.
Ministers Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Basavaraj Saraiah, D Sridhar Babu among others attended the meeting.
