Youth Cong workers stage demo, against Pakistan

Youth Congress workers in Tamil Nadu today staged protest demonstrations in various districts to condemn the killing of two Indian soldier allegedly by the Pakistan Army on the Line of Control in violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Police sources said more than 30 Youth Congress workers, led by State General Secretary Ms Anuradha Abi staged a protest demonstration in front of TNCC Headquarters Sathyamurthi Bhavan in the city.

During the demonstration, they also shouted slogans denouncing the Pakistan army for killing two Indian soldiers and also burnt Pakistan flags to register their protest.

When police tried to prevent them from burning the flag, a wordy duel ensued, resulting in a mild jostling.

Protesting against this the workers staged a road roko agitation, before they were pacified by the police.

Similar agitations were also organised in various places including Erode, Salem and in the southern Virudhunagar district, where a few Youth Congress workers were arrested.
