The Rupee today registered a gain of 30 paise to 54.40 against the US Dollar on selling of Dollars from banks and exporters, dealers at the inter-bank foreign exchange said.
Depreciating by 21 paise in last two sessions, the local fell by 5 paise in the opening session.
Later, it bounced back and surged by 30 paise to end strong at 54.40 as compared to its previous close.
It registered the day's high and low at 54.78 and 54.22 per USD, respectively, with a major oscillation.
The Rupee ended firm today owing to Dollar's weakness against other major world currencies.
Rebounding equity market also suppoted to rise the Indian Currency, dealers added.
