Kerala HC stays trial in Sister Abahaya murder case
The Kerala High Court today stayed the undergoing trial in the Sister Abahaya murder case in the CBI court.
The court stayed the trial after considering the plea, filed by social activist Joemon Puthenpurackal, seeking further probe in the case.
The court also issued notice to the accused Father Thomas Kottoor, Father Jose Poothrikayil, Sister Sephy and the investigating official and the CBI Director.
Joemon approached the high court after the CBI court rejected his plea seeking a further probe.
The body of Abhaya, an inmate of St Pius Convent at Kottayam, was found in the well of the convent on May 27, 1992.
