A British healthcare delegation led by Ms Anna Soubry, MP, UK Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Public Health, called on Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, here today.
During the occasion, the Chief Minister said he was glad that experts from UK and Kerala have been able to forge a partnership to improve quality of healthcare in the state.
The UK Health Minister, Ms Soubry, said Kerala is renowned worldwide for its high health and human development indices. "I am delighted to be in Kerala which is renowned worldwide for its high health and human development indices.
"I am very pleased to have met Chandy who shares my enthusiasm for strengthening the existing academic and research partnerships we have in Kerala.
"I invite key universities, colleges and companies in Kerala to look to the UK for partnerships in education, research, training, equipment and technology," the minister said.
