Actor Imran Khan turns 30
Bollywood heartthrob and chocolate hero Imran Khan turned 30 years on Sunday.
Imran Khan, or 'Matru' now, is expected to have a good start this year as his film 'Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola' has hit the theaters on Jan 12.
Playing 'Matru' in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola' has been quite challenging for Imran despite some disappointments faced in recent times.
The actor has even shed off his chocolate hero avatar to play the character 'Matru' for the film opposite to Anushka sharma.
The mamu's boy (as Imran is often termed for being Aamir Khan's nephew) aspired to be a filmmaker but debuted as an actor in 'Jaane Tu Ya Jane Na' in 2008, that was produced by uncle Aamir Khan.
Although Imran made several appearances as a child, in films like 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' (1988) and 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' (1992).
He played the role of a young Aamir Khan in both the films.
His performance in the lead role for his very first film won him the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award.
The actor has also starred in films like 'Kidnap' (2008) with Sanjay Dutt and Minisha Lamba, and 'Luck' (2009) with Shruti Haasan, but failed to succeed commercially in both the films.
He tasted commercial success with 'Break Ke Baad', 'I Hate Luv Storys', 'Delhi Belly', and 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan'.
The actor presently has two films, 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Again' and 'Milan Talkies' coming up in line.
Imran married his long time girlfriend Avantika Malik on Jan 10, 2011.
