Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hrs today.
Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep.
Mainly dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema and dry weather prevailed over Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Tamil Nadu: Vedaranyam (Nagapattinam dt) 3, Ramanathapuram (Ramanathapuram dt) 2 and Rameswaram and Pamban (both Ramanathapuram dt), Muthupet (Tiruvarur dt) and Peravurani (Thanjavur dt) 1 each.
Kerala: Minicoy 1.
The minimum temperature fell appreciably at most places over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, at one or two places over Telangana, North Tamil Nadu, fell at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, rest Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, rose appreciably at one or two places over Kerala, rose at one or two places over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed a little elsewhere over the region.
They were appreciably above normal at a few places over South Tamil Nadu, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, at one or two places over North Interior Karnataka, North Kerala, above normal at a few places over rest Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Kerala, at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, rest Telangana and were generally normal over the rest of the region.
Adilabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 9 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.
WEATHER FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 12th January 2013: Isolated rain may occur over South Tamil Nadu, South Kerala and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather would prevail over North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, North Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
