Churu and Pilani still coldest in Rajasthan
Churu in Rajasthan still groaned under sub zero temperature for the third successive night last night even as marginal rise in the mercury at some places failed to provide any relief from the intense cold wave sweeping most of the parts in Rajasthan for past few days.
Despite a rise of one degree, the mercury still stood at 1.7 degree below the freezing point of zero in Churu this morning, Meteorology office sources said here.
Similar was the situation in Pilani where rise in night temperature could not help the mercury to cross the mark of freezing point of zero even today.
Mount Abu, the only hill station in the desert-land, also recorded a minimum temerature of minus(-)0.5 degree Celsius for the second successive day today, Meteorology office sources said here. In the state capital of Jaipur that recorded unusually low temperature of 2.3 degrees Celsius yesterday, the mercury also climbed up but people still shivered under 4.0 degrees Celsius last night.
Likewise, most of the towns today recorded minimum temperatures at below 6.0 degree Celsius.
