AIADMK Secretary A Anbazhagan MLA today demanded the convening of a special session of the territorial assembly to discuss the financial crisis and the prevailing situation in the union territory .
Talking to newspersons here Mr Anbazhagan said when the government is reeling under severe financial crisis , amount to the tune of over Rs 30 lakhs is being spent to conduct yanam festival. Funds for several other heads are also being used without the consent of financial department.
While the revenue collection per month is Rs. 230 to 250 crores, the government expenses per month is Rs 250 to 270 crores he said and charged that tax collection itself has become a question mark under the Rangasamy regime.
He demanded that the government should publish the medical report of the girl who was raped here and should not keep silence in the issue.
He demanded that the Puducherry administration should also follow action on the lines of the 13 point action plan evolved by Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
Asked about the proposed over court for girls students in Puducherry, Mr Anbazhagan said it is not appropriate and sarcastically said the government had already announced several schemes which are yet to be implemented and this scheme would also meet the same fate.
On the direct cash transfer to the beneficiaries, Mr Anbazhagan said the government should not implement the scheme on a hurry as 25 per cent of the beneficiaries are yet to get their Aadhar card. The scheme should be reconsidered, he added.
