Punjab maintain unbeaten record in League phase

Hosts Punjab finished their level I Group A five-team men league competitions by remaining unbeaten in the the 63rd Senior National Basketball Championship at the Guru Nanak Indoor Stadium here. In their last league encounter, Punjab downed Services with clear-cut margin of 86-66. The Punjab men gave a consistent display in all four quarters which they won by 22-18, 16-12, 24-18, 24-18.

Talwinderjit Singh and Satnam Singh were in top form as they demolished the challenge of Services by scoring at regular intervals. Talwinderjit Singh topscored with 33 points while Satnam Singh contributed 20 points. Ranbir Singh made 13 points.

For Services, Parveen Kumar (11), Gopal Ram (11) and Narender Kumar (10) were the principal scorers.

Tamil Nadu outclassed Andhra Pradesh in all departments of the game as they raced to an easy 82-39 verdict. The foru quarters scores were 23-15, 24-4, 17-12, 18-8 in favour of the winners. Pratham (14), Rikin Pethani (14), S. Ram Kumar (14) and Hareesh Korath (11) helped their team register a comfortable win.
