Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde is expected to meet representatives of eight political parties from Andhra Pradesh on Friday to discuss the Telangana issue today.
According to reports, representative of the Congress, YSR Congress, TDP, BJP, TRS, CPI, CPI-M and the Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) have reached Delhi following an invitation from the Centre.
The Union home ministry had invited two members from each party to come to the meeting.
The BJP, the TRS and the CPI have announced their support for a separate Telangana state, but the CPI-M has been opposing the creation of small states. The Congress, the TDP and YSR Congress are yet to take a stand on the issue.
The last such meeting on the issue took place on January, 2011.
