Roshan Paul ousted Angad Khosla in the pre-quarter finals of boys singles under 12 event, at Bengal Sub Junior State Tennis championship played a Bengal Tennis Association complex here today.
Khosla, seeded 4th and a name in Bengal circuit for his previous performances in boys under 10 as well as 12, looked inferior in front of unseeded Paul, as the latter refused to drop every opportunity to end a point in his favour.
He was extremely confident through his body language and made utmost use of the baseline as he went on to grab almost every point which went on to a long rally. Paul entered the quarter final by a straight 8-4 victory over the unfortunate Khosla.
The draw sheet of girls singles under 14 met a similar fate to that of girls singles under 12, as all the top four seeds made it comfortably to the quarter final stage.
The top four seeds, Shruti Gupta, Adrija Biswas, Ishika Gupta and Megha Roy got the better of their opponents with almost no sweat to waste.
