Jain joined SAD due to political pressure: Amarinder
Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Capt Amarinder Singh today said Moga Congress MLA Joginder Pal Jain has resigned from the party and joined Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) due to political pressure.
Talking to media persons after presiding over political conference of Congress on Fatehgarh Sahib Shaheedi Jor Mel, Capt Singh said Jain was facing many cases so SAD pressurised him to join party.
He said there is no other reason of Jain's joining SAD.
On the other hand Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said here former Congress legislator Joginder Pal Jain has unconditionally joined SAD and there was no iota of truth in Amarinder's allegation that he was forced to join SAD.
He quipped that if Jain has joined Akali Dal to avoid his court trials then ask Amarinder when he was going to join Akali Dal to settle his legal matters? He said due to inaccessibility of Congress leaders, lack of vision and agenda has forced Mr Jain to quit the party.
He said if the reason of Capt Amarinder Singh about Jain's joining SAD is true then it would Capt Amarinder Singh who will join SAD first as he himself facing many cases.
Sukhbir said Jain will be SAD candidate in Moga byelection now.
