Condemning the recent gangrape in Delhi and also the statement made by APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana against the heinous incident, thousands of people, including students and women, took out a protest rally at various places in Andhra Pradesh today.
In Hyderabad, a large number of people from various student and women organisations took out candle rallies at the Necklace Road and at the historical monument 'Charminar' in the city condemning the gangrape incident.
Wearing black clothes and badges, they shouted slogans against the Government and demanded justice to the victim and stringent punishment to the culprits.
According to reports, the protest rallies also observed at Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Warangal, Vijayawada, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts in the state organized by a private T V Channel and Marwuari Youva Manch in association with APVP.
The protesters also strongly condemned the statement made earlier by the PCC Chief in Hyderabad that the brutal gang-rape of the 23-year-old girl a 'small issue' and said women should not 'roam' the streets at night.
