5 killed, 8 hurt in Karnataka mishaps

Five people, including two teen-aged students from Andhra Pradesh, were killed and eight seriously injured in two separate road accidents in Karnataka today.
In the first accident, three people belonging to the same family died and an equal number seriously inured when two speeding cars collided head-on near Bendagalli Village, near Gundlupet in Mysore District, about 180 km from here, today.
Police said the victims were identified as Rajeev (45), his wife Asha (35) and daughter Arathi(17) all of whom died on the spot.
Another daughter and the drivers of the two cars were seriously injured and admitted to a private hospital in Mysore.
