BSE Sensex edges higher
The BSE Sensex rose 0.07 percent on Monday, as bargain buying lifted downbeat technology stocks on a day of thin trade.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 13.09 points higher at 19,255.09 with 12 of its components closing in the green.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.14 percent or 8.05 points higher at 5,855.75 on Monday.
Caution prevailed as investors waited for the outcome of the U.S. fiscal cliff talks while individual blue chips moved on news flow.
Meanwhile in the bullion market, gold fell by Rs 30 to Rs 30,600 per 10 grams while silver gained by Rs 110 to Rs 58,300 per kg.
