UAE KMCC to provide free heart surgery

The UAE Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre National Committee owing allegiance to the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) will launch its free heart surgery scheme from January 2013.

Talking to reporters here, IUML national Treasurer and Kerala Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty said the UAE KMCC, in association wtih the D M Foundation and MIMS Charitable Trust, would provide free heart surgery to more than 200 people hailing from the poorest strata of society.

He said the Confident group of companies had offered Rs 50 lakh for the charitable scheme and the city-based Mims Hospital an equal amount by undertaking the surgery on concessional tariff.

A committee had been constituted by the UAE KMCC to select deserving patients after proper screening, he added.

IUML leader and Kerala Panchayat Minister M K Muneer, MIMS Chairman Dr Azad Moopan, Confident group Chairman and Managing Director Dr Roy C J UAE KMCC National Committee Chief Advisor Shamsudeen Bin Juhiyuddeen, were among others present.
