The Mumbai Police on Friday said they have filed a chargesheet against Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and two others for allegedly assaulting a South Africa based businessman Iqbal Mir Sharma and his father-in-law at a hotel in the city's Colaba area earlier this year.
The police said the chargesheet was filed in a metropolitan magistrate court on Thursday.
Khan, Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi have been charged under section 325 (assault) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Statement of 29 people have been added in the chargesheet, the police said.
Sharma said he was assaulted and got a broken nose while his 68-year-old father-in-law was not spared as well as the actor rained blows on them and hurled abuses.
The case was registered against Khan in the Colaba police station under section 325 of the IPC for allegedly punching Sharma and his father-in-law at the hotel.
Khan, along with his wife Kareena Kapoor and few other friends, were reportedly dining at the restaurant when he had a brawl with Sharma.
