Jaya announces more people-friendly measures
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today announced a slew of measures aimed at benefitting all sections of people in the state.
In her conlcuding address at the Conference of Collectors and Police officers here, Ms Jayalaltihaa came up with a whopping 343 announcements covering all departments, including health, education, police, tourism, road, transport, social welfare, agriculture, construction of new bridges and repairing of damaged roads.
She said hike in funds for developmental works in the Districts would be enhanced from Rs two crore to Rs five crore for each District.
She also said discretionary Funds allocated to the Collectors would be enhanced to Rs 10 lakh.
"Government Loan and Subsidy will be sanctioned for a Dyeing Units Park to be established at Karur," she said, adding that a Combined Water Supply Scheme with Cauvery as the source will be provided to Kulithalai and Thogamalai areas at a cost of Rs 12.50 crore.
She said a Combined Water Supply Scheme would be sanctioned covering Kulathur, Karambakudi, Alangudi, Gantharvakottai Taluks in Pudukottai District.
