Self-financing colleges: Govt to reconstitute Committee

The Committee, formed to study the problems of teaching and non-teaching staff employed in self-financing education institutions, will be re-constituted soon, Kerala Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb told the State Assembly.
Replying to a Calling Attention moved by E Chandrasekharan, the Minister clarified that former Kerala University Vice-Chancellor Dr A Jayakrishnan was the Chairman of the Committee. As Dr Jayakrishan retired from the service recently, the Government decided to reconstitute the Committee, he added.
The Opposition member stressed the necessity of implementating better service and remuneration conditions to teaching and non-teaching staff employed in self-financing schools and colleges.
The Government would look into the issue after receiving the report from the Committee, the Minister clarified in his reply.
