BSE Sensex dips on profit booking
The BSE Sensex fell 0.11 percent on Thursday, as profit-taking brought down stocks such as autos that had rallied recently.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 22.08 points lower at 19,453.92 with 17 of its components closing in the red.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.22 percent or 13.20 points lower at 5,916.40 on Thursday.
The closing day of the Parliament winter session and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in state elections also weighed on investor sentiments.
Meanwhile in the bullion market, gold gained by Rs 55 to end at Rs 30,595 per 10 grams while silver fell by Rs 575 to finish at Rs 59,595 per kg.
