Local lads Aditya Gokhale and Jayesh Pungaliya, Karnataka's C Vashisht are in line for a double crown, while Tamil Nadu's R Sai Avanthika is in line for a triple crown at the Club Solaris junior ranking Championship Series tennis tournament on Thursday.
The boys U-16 and Girls U-14 event would witness top two seeds clashing with each other in the singles final.
In the semi-finals played on Thursday, U-16 boys top seed Aditya Gokhale crushed Andhra's Kosaraju Sivadeep 6-2, 6-0, while second seed Jayesh Pungaliya was equally dominating third seed Vastin Thaker 6-2, 6-1.
The duo then joined hands to beat bt Kunj Kotak/ Christian Cummings 5-3, 4-2 to make it to the doubles final. The doubles event is played at the best of three short sets.
C Vashisht comfortably defeated Maharashtra's Vastin Thaker 6-1, 6-0 in the boys U-14 event to set up a summit clash with eighth seed Maharashtra lad Arman Bhatia. Arman won a hour and 45 minute battle against State-mate Tanmay Thakar 6-2, 7-6 (7-3). Vashisht later made it to the U-16 doubles final along with Sidhant Banthia.
The girls U-14 would final would see top seed Zeel Desai taking on second seed R Sai Avanthika. In semis, Zeel eased past fourth seed State girl Shrishti Dass 6-1, 6-3. Avanthika got the better of another State girl Shivani Ingle 6-3, 6-1.
Avanthika then won her U-16 semi-final battle against the same opponent with an identical score. Avanthika would face Mumbai girl Parveen Shivekar a 6-1, 6-0 winner against Prachi Naidu, in the final.
Avanthika also made it to the girls U-16 doubles final with Vaibhavi Deshmukh as partner. The duo would meet Shivani Ingle/Simran Kejriwal in the final.
