Bridge: Combination from Kolkata bags trophy

The Combination from Kolkata bagged the Ruia Silver Trophy on Wednesday as they tallied a total of 207 points at the end of the Swiss Super league in the 54th Winter National Bridge Championship at Geetanjali stadium here.
In the prestigious Ruia Gold Cup championship city based Railways 'A' along with Formidables from Delh Poddar developers from Mumbai and Indian Blues Bombay went into semi final.
In the quarter finals Wednesday, Indian Railways drubbed Swiss League leader Ajaya Bagaria 158-61, Formidables beat Maya Meera Sneha 129-104, Poddar developers defeated Mohta 74-50.
In the other quarter final Hemant Jalan's team conceded the match at the end of third session when they were trailing against India Blues Bombay 49-95.
In the semi finals Thursday Railways 'A' will meet India Blues Bombay while the Formidables will take on Poddar developers.
In the Ruia Silver trophy for the lesser rated players, Champions; the Combination was followed by Dr. Subrata Sengupta who scored 198 to emerge Runners Up.
They were followed by BDBA Durgapur-189, R K D Infrastructure 185 and Konnagar VI 171.
