Richard Gere heard of his Golden Globes nomination in India
Richard Gere has revealed that he came to know of his Golden Globe Best Actor nomination when he was in India.
Gere, who won a Globe for "Chicago," was apparently having problems with his phone, which had stopped working at the time when nominations were announced.
"I was in India, and my phone wasn't working," he told the New York Post at a lunch for the film 'Arbitrage' at Monkey Bar.
"But when I got to the coast in south India, all of a sudden my phone worked. I turned it on and had 50 messages. My first thought was that something was wrong, and then it was all 'congratulations.' I totally forgot about it."
