Bank officers and employees in this district of Kerala will join the nationwide bank stir in protest against the Banking Regulation Amendment Act passed by Parliament yesterday.
Workers and officers owing allegiance to All India Bank Employess Assocaition (AIBEA), All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA), Bank Employees Federation of India and National Union of Bank Emplyees (NUBE) will participate hitting the operations, including clearing, Aikyavedi Convenor P K Lakshmidas said in a release here today.
However, Co-Operative and Gramin Banks have been exempted from the agitation, he said.
The agitators would take out demonstrations in Vatakara, Koilandi, Perambra, Balussery, Thamarasseri, Feroke and before Indian Bank at the S M Street in the city, he added.
