Railway minister inaugurates new pair of trains in Uttar Pradesh
Union Railways Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal today inaugurated three pairs of passenger trains on newly laid Barni-Anand Nagar rail division near Indo-Nepal border, besides flagging-off a special train towards Goprakhpur from here.
The minister flagged-off a special train towards Gorakhpur and inaugurated the newly laid track from Barni railway station located near the international border.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bansal said the department was facing a number a challenges due to no hike in passenger fare. "The Railway department is making its best efforts to avail all facilities to passengers in the given resources," he claimed.
Further, he said that full attention was being paid on facility to passengers that would travel to Allahabad on Maha Kumbh commencing next month.
All the three railway stations of Allahabad would get a neek look in view of the event, the minister asserted.
Moreover, he announced Shauhratgarh railway station should be developed as model railway station.
The minister also addressed a meeting of the Congress leaders in Allahabad this morning and assured maximum facilities to the devotees during Kumbh.
Mr Bansal also reviewed the railway preparation for the Maha Kumbh beginning next month.
