'Kaksparsh', 'Makaramanju' to be screened in BIFES
Malayalam masterpiece on Raja Ravi Varma 'Makaramanju' by Lenin Rajendran and Marathi film 'Kaksparsh' will have special screenings at the 5th Bangalore International Film Festival (BIFFES) beginning here on December 20.
Makaramanju with Santosh Sivan and Karthika Nair among the cast narrates the story of Raja Ravi Varma at a certain stage of life, when he was in the process of paining a masterpiece with the theme on Pururavas.
While Kaksparsh made this year was in the panel of Indian films selected recommendation to Oscar nomination.
More than 180 films will be screened during the week-long festival which would celebrate 100 yers of Indian Cinema.
To coincide with the Festival special seminars, master classes and round table would be held with the master class conducted by German editor Andrew Bird who would talk on creative use of sound in motion picture editing.
Promotion of Asian Cinema, Visual efforts and cost effectiove scenic enrichment in post production and Digital experience --How the new age camera is changing cinema from sript to screne are some of the topics for these events.
