Himachal Pradesh batsmen batted brilliantly forcing a draw against Karnataka on the fourth and final day of the Elite Group A under 19 cricket championship for Cooch Behar trophy here today.
Late resistence from Ankit Khalsi 89 and Nakul Sharma 63 saved the day for HP, which resumed the second innings at 200 for 1, ultimately made 456 for 6 in 138 overs when play was called off early.
HP were made to follow on after making just 188 in the first knock, in reply to Karnataka's mammoth 618/5 declared, conceding a 430-run first innings lead.
Earlier, last night centurial P Khanduri was out for 123 while Ankush Bains continued with his fine run making 63.
Left arm spinner Shreyas Gopal tok 4 for 119 for Karnataka after bowling 50 overs.
Karnataka got three points from the first innings lead while HP ended with one point for the draw.
