Hosts Karnataka had to be content with three points as Vadarbha drew against the six times champions on the fourth and final day of the Elite Group B Ranji Trophy encounter played at Gangotri Glades grounds here today.
Replying to a mammoth 619/8 scored by Karnataka in the first innings, Vidarbha made 447 in their first knock.
After gaining a 172-run first innings lead, Karnataka ended at 81 in the second innings, when the match was called off before the mandatory overs.
Earlier, resuming at 302 for two in the first innings, Vidarbha reached 447 thanks to Amol Ubarhande made a fine 137 and Salabh Srivatsava missed a well deserved century by getting out at 97.
Karnataka gained three points for taking the first innings lead while Saurashtra got one.
Having played six matches in the group so far, Karnataka, won one lost one and drawn four matches with points tally of 14 points while Vidarbha team also played same number of matches having won one match and drawn five matches with 13 points.
Karnataka will play their next match against Haryana in Hubli from December 22. They will have to win both their remaining two encounters to keep hopes of entering quarterfinal.
For Karnataka speedster A Mithun took 4/60 and left arm spinner K P Appanna 3/109.
