Members of the Tiruchirapalli District unit of the Tamil Nadu State Primary Cooperative Bank All Employees Association (TNSPCB) led by their President R Duraisamy observed a day's fast in front of the railway junction here today.
In a statement here today, Association Treasurer A Muthukrishnan said they were demanding among other things pension, medical insurance and new wage settlement from April one next.
In a separate staement, Association State President C Kuppusamy said similar fasts were held in 31 different centres across the state to draw the state government's attention to their 'just and reasonable demands.' He appealed to Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to implement their 17-point charter of demands immediately.
