NCC's National Integration Camp from Dec 21

National Integration Camp of of National Cadets Corps (NCC) that will be attended by 650 cadets, including girls from all states except Jammu and Kashmir, will be held at Government Engineering College, Mangatuparamba, near here, from December 20 to January 31.

Addressing a news conference here today, Col Purushothaman M, Group Commandant of NCC Kozhikode Zone, said the camp was being organised by 31 Kerala battalion, NCC group head quarters based at Kozhikode.

Central NCC Directorate had allowed two national integration camps to Kerala. Another camp would be held at Kollam. Selected 16 cadets, including six girls from each states, would attend the camp.

Kannur District Collector Rathan U Kelkar would inaugurate the camp on December 21.

Senior division cadets would reach Kannur on December 20 and Junior cadets would reach on December 22. The main aim of the camp was to introduce the Kerala cultural, identity, tradition and customs to the people of other states besides providing training. Kannur was hosting the camp after a gap of six years. The NCC cadets would also visit Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and also get a chance to see the traditional arts of Kannur like Theyyam and other folk dances.
