David and Victoria Beckham's son Romeo has been chosen for British fashion house Burberry's spring/summer 2013 ad campaign.

The 10-year-old was handpicked by Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey to star in the brand's new campaign, the Telegraph reported.

He described the kid as "a joy to work with" and claimed he "really stole the show."

Little Beckham alluded to his relationship with the brand last week when he sported a dark Burberry trench coat to the preview of 'Viva Forever!' - the musical created in honour of his mother Victoria's former band the Spice Girls - but no one could have guessed he would be cast alongside Edie Campbell and Charlie France in the new, global advertising campaign.

The advert was shot by renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino, long time Burberry collaborator, and the man behind the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's engagement portraits.

"We had such fun shooting the campaign and I think that comes through in the images which really reflect the upbeat spirit of the collection" Bailey said.
