Indian hospital pays tribute to Kate hoax call nurse
Jacintha Saldanha, the nurse who answered a Australian radio station's prank call regarding Kate's pregnancy, has been immortalized in an award by an Indian hospital, where she trained to be a nurse.
The Father Muller College in Mangalore, which Saldanha attended from 1984 to 1988, has announced a new "Best Bedside Nurse" award in her memory, the Mirror reported.
Several of her former colleagues there said they remembered her as being a diligent and intelligent student, with one saying: "She was the best."
Saldanha will have her last rites performed at the Church of our Lady of Health, in Shirva, Karnataka, with her husband Benedict Barboza in attendance.
