Emirates site, rewards program shines at WTA
Air carrier Emirates celebrated a double success at the World Travel Awards last night in Delhi when the company's website was named "World's Leading Airline Website" and Skywards, it's frequent flyer programme, was voted "World's Leading Airline Rewards Programme", the company said. The World Travel Awards have been running since 1994 and the categories are voted for by members of the global travel trade and the general public.
Emirates beat a strong field of competition from across the globe to win these two categories, the company said.
"Emirates has a long tradition of success at the World Travel Awards" said Kevin Taylor, Group Senior Vice President, World Travel Awards. "Winning two categories is a reflection on the airline's on-going commitment to the needs of its customers and recognising their loyalty. I would like to congratulate Emirates on its double success"
Since the launch of the website over 15 years ago, the mission of www.emirates.com is to make the booking process as seamless as possible, the company said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Skywards currently has over 8 million members worldwide and allows members to earn and spend Miles whilst enjoying special privileges with prestigious global partners and also offers members the ability to manage their own journeys.
