The All Nagaland Selected Entrepreneurs Association (ANSEA) has temporarily suspended its indefinite agitation after Naga Students' Federation (NSF) had assured the association to look into the Year of Entrepreneur (YOE) issue.
In a statement, ANSEA president Kekhriesetuo Michael stated that it would go ahead with the agitation if the government continued to neglect the implementation of YOE and informed that the association would be meeting Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner today.
On the second day of its agitation yesterday, ANSEA members picketed the Directorate of Industries and Commerce (DIC) office here. A confrontation was averted following the intervention of the district administration and NSF.
ANSEA members expressed their disappointment with the responses of some government departments on availability of funds and the bank's insistence that there was 'need to get approval from higher authority.' Stating that the entrepreneurs were in doubt as to whether the amount had been sanctioned or not, ANSEA appealed for the immediate implementation of YOE.
Meanwhile, the Director Industries and Commerce Thekruneituo Kire pointed out that his department was only a facilitator and it was in touch with all the departments and banks besides requesting them to expedite the formalities.
He said a thorough discussion relating to the implementation of YOE was already held and 26 cases had already been passed by Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Limited (NIDC).
He also said DIC had sent the list of the entrepreneurs to all the departments as per the feasibility of the projects and all the departments had responded positively.
He added the department had also written to all the banks thrice besides telephonic intimation to expedite the process.
